Everything is possible

I met Peter and Ann when Lindsay and I started school together aged eleven.   I never quite got over the fact that Peter was like nobody I had ever met before and certainly was nothing like the people I had grown up with.   It seemed to me that Peter giggled at everything, sometimes when he perhaps should not.  Nothing seemed beyond your power or his when you were in his company; although  navigating a very expensive car down an unusually snowy hill was beyond the power of two novice drivers, as Lindsay and I found out.    There are probably a number of his friends and family who wondered at times whether his enthusiasm for sailing the high seas overpowered his ability to assess risk but I am sure there is no one who ever felt bored in his company.   His enthusiasms seemed boundless and were totally infectious and his hospitality aways warm and generous.  For someone so dynamic he was unusual in that he always had time to have a proper conversation and demonstrate a real interest in everyone.

Peter was a man who could bring humour and energy to a room just by entering it and I particularly will miss observing  the twinkle in his eye as he searched for something mischievous to say.
