There will never be another...

We don't know where to start to tell about our friendship with Peter.  There are too many wonderful memories spanning over 40 years since we all met up thanks to Alan Brown and Frank Schollett back in 1979.  We've shared laughs galore and tears together with Ann and Peter.  We've visited each other on both sides of the pond, traveled to other countries together, and shared many a great meal and a special glass with two people we consider part of our family.  Our most vivid memory is sailing to St. Vaas the day after Ann and Peter's 25th Wedding celebration at Balstone Farm.  All of you that were on that trip will remember it well and all the stories that followed.  As a photographer, I'm always looking for that special image, and maybe one try at that is a comical reflection displaying my too-eager pursuit of 'the shot'.  Due to my lack of sailing prowess, I'd fouled the navigation instrument attached to a long lead line with the propeller of Peter's sailboat.  When daylight came, able seaman Peter J.R. White went into his costume, dove over the side into very chilly waters, and disappeared below the surface with knife in hand.  Shortly, he surfaced with the rope bits, shaking in the water from the cold.  What did I do?  I shouted out to Peter "hold it right there, Peter, look over here, let me get a photo or two before you come back on board"!  Peter was not happy.  Of course, days and years later, we reminisced about it all and had a good laugh and another sip...
